Billing Manager

Position Summary:
The Billing Manager is responsible for the timely day to day patient billing. They serve as a key business partner to the Executive Leadership Team of the organization and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Billing Manager executes the operations strategies for UCP with key areas of focus on billing controls and office workflow. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities
- Supervise billing specialist staff and ensure effective interactions and efficient work flow.
- Recruiting and training medical billing specialist.
- Set goals and create or manage programs to reach them.
- Reconciliation of revenue accounts and analyzing billing problems, including aging of accounts receivable, to minimize bad debt write-offs.
- Establish and coordinate collection policy and procedures.
- Establish and monitor internal billing procedures to ensure operational objectives.
- Explore, recommend, and coordinate the varied financial assistance options available to clients, while maximizing revenue for the organization.
- Monitor and verify ongoing authorizations, plan of cares, and proper billing codes for each client.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls over accounts receivable, debt/collections. Investigate and resolve any problems, inquiries, discrepancies, etc concerning reimbursement and/or verification.
- Supervise and ensure daily cash payment on accounts.
- Ensure patient billing records are maintained in a confidential manner and in compliance with privacy and documentation procedures.
- Responsible for timely completion of all daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Implement company policy and procedure and ensure compliance by all campus departments.
Skill/Experience Requirements

Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to charter school, IDEA, School Readiness, and VPK compliance requirements

Knowledge of third party regulations including Florida State and Federal laws regulations

Ability to build and foster strong relationships with managers, peers and business partners

High personal standards of integrity.

Ability to handle highly sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.

Basic Human Resource management and supervision skills

Ensures accurate billing of client services and compliance with client billing laws, regulations and policies.
Working knowledge of funding sources and regulatory issues impacting Health Care billing and collection functions.
Well developed analytical and problem solving abilities.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree or higher required in related field
Experience: 3-5 Years management experience in related field (i.e. medical billing office)
