Ticket to Work
UCP of Central Florida was recently approved to be a provider for Ticket to Work, an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work. The goal of the program is to increase opportunities and choices for Social Security disability beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational, rehabilitation and other support services from public and private providers, employers and other organizations.
How the program works
Participants enrolled in the program receive vouchers which they may use to obtain the services and jobs they need from a coalition of organizations called employment networks. The purpose is to reduce reliance on social security disability benefits and increase self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for beneficiaries.
Individuals ages 18-64 who have a disability and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are eligible to receive a Ticket to Work voucher. UCP will work with the participants on various supportive employment services.
Anyone interested in participating either as a participant or partner can contact Paul Sershon, Director of Adult & Recreation Services, at psershon@ucpcfl.org for more information.
