A Message from CEO Ilene Wilkins:
Celebrating 70 Years of Empowering Children and Families

As we celebrate UCP of Central Florida’s 70th anniversary, I am deeply proud of the journey we have taken together. What began in 1955 as a small program created by a group of parents seeking hope for their children with cerebral palsy has grown into a powerful movement that touches the lives of more than 3,500 children and families every year.

Over these seven decades, our mission has expanded beyond cerebral palsy to serve children with a wide range of developmental disabilities, as well as those without disabilities. We’ve built state-of-the-art facilities, developed innovative education programs, and remained committed to providing individualized support, therapy, and education services. Today, we stand as a leader in inclusive education, early childhood development, and family support across Central Florida.

At every step, UCP has been driven by one unshakable belief: every child deserves the opportunity to unlock their full potential. From our humble beginnings in a small house on Colonial Drive to the opening of our modern UCP Healthy West Orange Campus in 2022, this belief has fueled our growth, inspired our community partnerships, and strengthened our resolve.

This milestone is not just a celebration of our past, but also a promise for the future. We will continue to innovate, expand, and serve, ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, has access to the care, education, and support they need to thrive.
