Dr. Irma J. Rosa-Cains has been with UCP of Central Florida (UCP) since the early 1990’s. She has held several positions within the organization demonstrating continued growth and leadership skills. Dr. Rosa-Cains initially came to UCP as a physical therapist to develop the outpatient practice. She later became the therapy department coordinator prior to her promotion to Director of Therapy and eventually to Sr. Director of Therapy Practices, overseeing all clinical aspects of the therapy department. Dr. Rosa-Cains received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Puerto Rico and later obtained her doctorate from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, MN. She holds a neurodevelopmental treatment pediatric certification and is a graduate of the Leadership Osceola Program. She also is a certified physical therapy clinical instructor. Prior to working at UCP, Dr. Rosa- Cains worked at the Dr. I. Gonzalez-Martinez Oncology Hospital and at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, as well as Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Dr. Rosa-Cains is a well- respected clinician in the treatment of infant and children with neuromotor impairments. Her experience, expertise, and passion for others have given her the skills necessary to serve UCP’s staff, clients, and community stakeholders.
