DR. ILENE E. WILKINS

PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER



Dr. Ilene E. Wilkins joined UCP of Central Florida in 1995 and has been the President and CEO of the organization since 2002. Prior to taking on her current roles, Dr. Wilkins was UCP of Central Florida’s Center Director. She has been instrumental in growing the agency’s capacity to serve from 150 children to over 3,500 children with and without disabilities in Central Florida.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s from New York University

  • Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University

  • Doctorate in Exceptional Education from University of Central Florida


COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

  • National and statewide leader in the field of disabilities

  • Appointed by the governor as Chairman of Florida Inter-Agency Coordinating Council for infants and toddlers with disabilities for children’s medical services

  • Regional chair for the United Cerebral Palsy Association Southeast Region

  • Head of various policy task forces

  • Current member of the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County

  • 2010 Central Florida Woman of the Year by the Women’s Executive Council

  • 2016 CEO of the Year Award by the Orlando Business Journal

  • 2018 Kathleen O. Maul Leadership Award by UCP National

  • 2021 Dr. Phillips Leadership Award by Dr. Phillips Charities

  • 2021 Top Women Business Leaders by Orlando Family Magazine

  • 2021 Brave Women of Orlando by Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando

  • 2021 New York University Alumni Changemaker Award


INTERESTS

  • Dr. Wilkins was also a foster parent for ten years, fostering over 150 children and teens. She has a passion for traveling, roller coasters and reading.
